From August 6 to 16, the Gyeongbokgung Palace: Summer Vacation program is taking place in Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Main programs include the Geonchunmun Gate summer program (footbath experience, palace resting area, photo shoot), Donggung daily life reenactment (king and queen night walk, traditional clothing experience, etc.), and sojubang (kitchen) royal snack (traditional snacks, storytelling, etc.).

The Geonchunmun Gate summer program takes place inside the gates and provides snacks and traditional experiences. The kitchen operated by the head chef offers watermelon and walnut wrapped in dried persimmon. The footbath activity in front of the ginkgo tree allows visitors to experience takjok, a water activity done by the nobles to cool down from the summer heat.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the program is limited to 100 visitors per day and all participants must wear a mask, have their temperature checked upon entrance, and keep a safe distance from other people.
