The 20th Inje Icefish Festival will be held from January 18 to 27 around Bingeoho Lake in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do. Participants can catch bingeo, or smelt, a small freshwater fish, as well as enjoy leisure sports and eat delicious foods.
This year’s theme is having fun in winter surrounded by nature, and there will be a variety of new programs matching this theme. In the Drone Zone, visitors can watch drones operated by pilots and participate in various programs. The Snow Village will be set as Inje in the ‘60s and visitors can borrow school uniforms to try on. Main events include ice fishing, ice sledding, skating, argo riding, and more.
Ice fishing is free but visitors will need to pay a fee to borrow fishing tools and buy bait. Additional fee is required for ice fishing in tents, ice sledding, skating, and other programs.
