Korea is expected to welcome an all-time high of 17.5 million foreign visitors this year. This record surpasses the previous record of 17.24 million in 2016. When converted to time, it is equivalent to approximately one foreigner arriving in Korea every 1.8 seconds.
Between January and November, Korea received the most visitors from China (5.5 million) and Japan (3.02 million).
Furthermore, on December 26, officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, as well as other major tourism industries, will welcome the 17,250,000th foreign visitor to enter Korea at Incheon International Airport.
