Seoul Botanic Park, which began its project in 2015, opened its doors for a soft opening on October 11. The park currently features a collection of 3,100 different plant species, and expects to expand further in abundance and diversity by its grand opening in May 2019.
The park’s size is almost equivalent to Children’s Grand Park, and more than twice as large as Yeouido Park. Seoul Botanic Park is comprised of the Open Forest, Themed Garden, Lake Garden, and Wetland. The Themed Garden, open from 09:00 to 18:00, consists of an outdoor garden and Plant Culture Center that exhibits a greenhouse with plants from twelve different cities abroad. Other gardens and attractions are open 24 hours.
A variety of events will take place every weekend until the end of October. In addition, the recent opening of Magoknaru Station on the Airport Railroad Line allows visitors to enjoy a convenient access to the park.
