Seongyojang House was built in the Joseon dynasty as an aristocrat house and is quite large in size in comparison to other hanok houses in Korea. Due to its well-preserved condition, Seongyojang House is the perfect place to get a glimpse of how housing and living conditions were like in the Joseon dynasty as well as admire the beauty of natural settings within the hanok premises. In particular, the garden pond and Hwallaejeong Pavilion set above the pond is considered the most scenic site of the house.
