Enjoy Your New Museum and Travel with Sound! Now, enjoy tour into the sound with Sorisum Museum. Every spectators visiting Sorirum Museum will be gifted Fun, Beauty and Education. It was named as “Sorisum Museum”, starting from an idea that "sound is not just a something hearing but a something watching, touching and feeling”, aiming to collect every sounds on the globe into one place, and it was born in September, 2004, throughout preparation period for 5 years for giving wholly new excitement, extraordinary beauty and precious knowledge. It has gross coverage of 5,300 square yards, has solemn 3 story building and total 5 pavilions, and makes every effort to accomplish new growth through replacement of various exhibits every year. | It displays exhibits centering around such inventions by Edison as TinFoil, a machine stored sound for the first time in the world, and Telegraph, a machine delivered sound. There are various exhibitions combining sound and science, including phonograph that had been used before using electricity, first speaking dolls and singing chair. |
| ‘Sound of Life’ hall imitating womb of mother, 2 huge pianos played by feet allowing visitors to experience, and magic harp that produces sound without any string have been prepared, under theme of ‘Sound of Life’, that explains mysteries of life-birth with images and sound. Visitors can play organ of memory that is located at the corner of exhibition hall. |
| We have collected and exhibit 40 musical instruments from North Korea for the first time. Particularly, reformed instrument named “Okryugeum”, boasted by North Korea is one of pride Sorisum Museum has, and it will gives precious experience to visitors due to its scarcity. Also, you can play various percussion instruments and drums, including those for Korean Samulnori. It is designed to allow visitors to experience their own mini Nanta Performance. Also, opportunity to compare musical instruments in the Korean Hall and those from North Korea is provided. |

| It is designed to allow visitors to learn and experience extraordinary sound culture, and play them. The most important highlight is to compare/experience similar but little different sound culture of Korea, China and Japan, along with North Korean musical instruments displayed in the 3rd exhibition hall. Also, there are exotic musical instruments from Southeast Asian countries, and drum and flute, made by bones’ will present special experience. |

You can inspect figure and sound of our ancestors using largest Panoramic Diorama in Korea. They are displayed under theme of 4 seasons in Korea during 1800s, and visitors can hear sound of life from that time. Opposite side of 5th exhibition hall is “Light and sound hall’ that allows visitors to feel like in-dreams with beautiful music and fantastic space.
- You can watch beautiful musical movies and performances by world-leading musicians 3 times a day at the DVD visual hall on 3rd floor.
- Biggest natural shell museum could be said as face of Sorisum Museum that consists of about 50 thousands crustacea and shells of 200 types. They’re filling in the central hall of the museum from 3rd floor to the 1st floor, and produce celestial sound in windy days.
- There is a corner named ‘love whispers’ at the backyard of museum before outdoor promenade. It is beloved by couples and families, since you can hear tiny sound of love through faces of 2 godness facing each other.
- Outdoor stage at the promenade can be used as recreation place for students, and you can see the sea of Jeju between coconut trees.
