The world in one place - Expo 2012 Yeosu

The Expo is, together with the Olympics and the World Cup, one of the world’s three major international events. An expo is a celebration of the achievements and future prospects of mankind.

The Expo 2012 Yeosu is scheduled to be held in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do Province from May 12, 2012 to August 12, 2012. Yeosu is a coastal city with abundant maritime resources and splendid natural landscapes. Based on its close location to the sea, it chose “The Living Ocean and Coast” as its theme. For the first time in Expo history, the exhibition hall has been built on the sea. The Ocean and Coast Best Practice Area (OCBPA) will showcase the world’s best policies, technologies, and products related to the expo theme, and propose ways to utilize them to develop and advance global community, economy, and scientific technology.

By the entrance to the expo venue are the Yeosu Expo train station and the Yeosu New Port. The venue is also close to the Yeosu public bus terminal (2 kilometers) and the Yeosu Airport (17 kilometers), making it easy to travel to Yeosu from anywhere in the world.
