signed an agreement to receive USD 80 million in funding from Hong Kong.
The MOU on the Marina Bay Seoul Hotel in Gimpo was signed in Shanghai by
Kim Mun-su, governor of Gyeonggi Province; Yu Young-rock, mayor of Gimpo City;
and the president of ED-SUN Hong Kong Industry Co. Ltd.
Under the MOU, ED-SUN Hong Kong Industry Co. Ltd. will build Gyeonggi Province’s
largest medical tourism business hotel, with 700 guest rooms, by investing USD
80 million in the 4,556-m2 Gochon Logistics Complex in Gimpo City. Construction
will be completed by the middle of 2017.
The Hong Kong investor said that by combining retail with business and leisure,
it will construct a hotel that offers a variety of medical services, besides
shopping, such as stem cell therapy, genetic testing, scalp care, traditional
Chinese medicine clinics, and pain clinics.
Gyeonggi Province expects the project to solve the current shortage of tourist
accommodations and contribute to the regional economy by fostering the medical
ED-SUN Hong Kong Industry Co. Ltd., a Hong Kong-based specialized investment
and consulting company that was incorporated in 2011, built a hotel in Heilongiang
Province, China, and built and operates townhouses in Dongtan.
