Title Conglomerates, investors show interest in Saemangeum Tourism District

This year’s first investor relations session held successfully in Seoul

(Jeonju = Yonhap News) Lim Cheong = Conglomerates have shown a growing interest in the Saemangeum Tourism District.

The “Saemangeum Tourism District investor relations session,” hosted by the Saemangeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone Authority, was successfully held at the Construction Building, in Seoul, on May 14. It attracted more than 300 tourism developers and investors, including Samsung Everland, Daemyung Construction, and various financial firms.

The event, jointly organized by the Saemangeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone Authority, K-Water, and Seosan Techno Valley, was held to show the progress of projects developing tourism complexes in the Buan region and on the Gogunsan Islands in the Gunsan region, ahead of full-blown development of the Saemangeum Tourism District.

The SGFEZ Authority independently operated an “Investment Counseling Desk” on site, and provided investment-related information to companies in attendance, as well as worked to attract investment and hosted PR activities.

Song Ki-hwan, head of the tourism planning team, said, “Systematic integration of developers who will execute projects with realty related companies and financial firms, is important to successfully attract investment.” Also, he added, “Through the investor relations session, we will discover potential investors and establish a solid investment network.”
