When a guest room is an art gallery in and of itself, you can enjoy art and culture from the comfort of your own room. Allow your mind and body to rest and be at peace. These hotels are so relaxing that they are not merely places to sleep; they are sometimes the very reason to travel.

Haevichi Hotel & Resort is a luxurious hotel and resort located by Pyoseon coast on
Jejudo Island. The beauty of this part of Jejudo Island was captured in a recent Korean
TV show that was filmed in this area. Indeed, the view of the sea from here is breathtaking.
The hotel and the resort are built next to each other. Hotel rooms are available in
Standard, Executive and Suite, with Executive guests given access to the spectacular
ninth floor lounge, which offers a continental breakfast in the morning and tea and
refreshments throughout the day. Wine, cocktails and other drinks are served during
happy hour from 5 to 7 every evening.

The resort offers two types of rooms, Standard and Suite. Unlike the
rooms at the hotel, both types come outfitted with a kitchen, helping
the room feel more like home. The outdoor pool is warm even in the
winter, allowing guests to swim outside all year round. The indoor
pool features a baby pool and Jacuzzi so children can swim in a safe
environment. There is also a spa, where professionally trained staff
members provide the highest quality of care.

For families traveling with children, Haevichi has a Kids’ Experience
Zone offering a number of fun classes, including making paper dolls
and wooden accessories, and painting T-shirts. All classes cost 15,000
won and are offered every day in the atrium of the hotel.
And what good is a hotel and resort without great food? Haevichi has
that covered as well, with a variety of restaurants, a bar that features
live music, and a bakery. There are also a number of restaurants and
seafood places not far from Haevichi. After dinner, many guests enjoy
walking along the shore at Pyoseon Beach, which is just a hop,
skip and a jump from the hotel.

Who says you need a body of water to take a cruise? There’s one place you can enjoy
the same romantic feeling on land, and that’s Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht. Located in
Jeongdongjin, this cruise-themed resort sits atop a hill, not the sea. The inside of the
resort, which actually resembles a full-scale five-star cruise ship, will remind guests of
what it feels like to be on the high seas. Indeed, the resort so resembles a cruise ship
that it could, in theory, stay afloat if pushed into the sea.

Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht is situated in an area of eastern Korea that
is said to afford some of the best sunrise views in the country. Every
room above the third floor has a terrace that allows for a breathtaking
vista. On top of the hotel and condominium rooms, there are
eight suites available. The royal suite, set in the resort’s bow, boasts a
commanding view of the East Sea through its windows. On the tenth
floor is the Sky Lounge with a rotating floor, which allows visitors
to enjoy a 360° view of the surrounding area. Horizon Restaurant, located
on the eighth floor of the ship, offers both Korean and Western
dishes, while the bakery in the lobby is known for its oven-fresh
breads and cakes. With a theme park and a promenade nearby, there
is something fun for everyone to do here.

Right next to the resort is Delaluz Yacht Club, which has real sailboats
on hand. Enjoy a variety of marine sports, from yachting and
kayaking to speed boating and parasailing.

Namoonjae is a pension complex on a small island called Soeseom, which is located off
the northeastern coast of Anmyeondo Island, Korea’s sixth largest. Anmyeondo Island,
which is by the Yellow Sea, is connected to the mainland by a bridge that stops in Taean.
Amazingly, the whole island has been turned into a European-style tourist resort, making
it very popular among Korean and foreign tourists alike. It was named after a plant
called “namoonjae” (seablite), which grows along the coast and turns from green to red
every autumn.

Namoonjae is divided into two complexes, each located at the tip of the island.
The spectacularly manicured garden is adorned with a number of interesting
sculptures and the walkways between the two complexes allow
guests to easily and comfortably tour the island.

The buildings of the first complex are surrounded by legions
of trees and plants; from spring to fall, wildflowers can be seen
blooming everywhere on the island.
Namoonjae is a theme-based pension with different concepts applied
to each room, where bright colors and unique designs captivate
the imagination and make staying here a true pleasure.
The stunning interiors at both complexes are filled with fresh
ideas. Whether you choose a standard or ondol (underfloor heating
system) room, you are sure to enjoy yourself during your stay.

For the artistically inclined,
Gallery Jun is worth visiting
to check out its diverse assortment
of ornaments and antique
decorations. Also, Namoonjae
Avocado Restaurant offers a
whole range of family favorites,
including pork cutlet and spaghetti,
as well as a great salad
bar.
There is also an on-site bbq site
by the sea and an outdoor pool
for children.
Families with children often
like exploring the shores of the
Yellow Sea, which lies directly
in front of Namoonjae.

Tropical Dream is located near the beautiful Hallyeo Maritime National Park by
Geojedo Island. At this modern resort-style pension designed for complete harmony
with the surrounding nature, it is hard not to relax and take in the view.
As its name implies, Tropical Dream is full of palm trees, a plant not common in
Korea. Located in the southern part of the country, it enjoys mild to warm temperatures
all year round.
Designed by Professor Q.M. Min, the same architect who built the unique House of
the Mind pension in Yangpyeong, Tropical Dream employs a similar architectural
style. Modern and contemporary, it is built with exposed concrete, one of Min’s architectural
trademarks. Also, this high-end resort-style pension boasts an interior design
and decorations that are simple yet sophisticated. The pension was built to capture the
idea of a warm tropical area, and the rooms accordingly bear names taken from tropical
fruits, including mangosteen, coconut, papaya, and avocado – colors inspired by
these fruits are used in the rooms as well. As a result, each room has its own character,
ranging from majestic to upbeat.

All the rooms consist of five separate spaces, with each room affording
a view of the sea. And, of course, you can enjoy a private
spa in comfort of your own room.
The Avocado Room, for example, has an outdoor spa jutting out
toward the sea. The Mangosteen Room consists of two areas connected
by a hallway, with each room having a separate exit and
passage to preserve guest privacy.
Geojedo Island is well known for its clear sea and blue sky. Even
though it is not actually located in a tropical region, a warm and
relaxing atmosphere can be felt throughout the pension. Also,
visitors can enjoy a number of different activities, ranging from
mountain biking and all-terrain vehicle excursions to marine
sports like snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing.

Happy House Santorini was designed to look like Santorini, one of the most famous
and beautiful of all the Greek islands. Happy House Santorini’s white and blue walls,
wooden doors and tables, and outdoor pools lend the place a feeling that evokes a
calm, soothing atmosphere. Each building is named after a real village in Santorini:
Oia, Imero (from Imerovigli) and Fira.
The pensions were initially designed for couples. All 20 rooms, big and small, were set
to fit two people; hence the rooms may be a bit difficult to accommodate large groups
or families. Each room has a unique design concept. They are available as one-floor,
two-floor and three-floor pensions. Each has a fully equipped kitchen and the areas of
the pension are connected through charming passage-like hallways. Some pensions
are decorated like lofts, but the bedrooms are separated to offer maximum privacy.
And the split-level pensions have the bedrooms and bathrooms on different floors to
create a greater sense of freedom.

One of the real highlights of Happy House Santorini is that all
the rooms have a whirlpool bathtub and terrace overlooking the
sea. The terraces are equipped with Mediterranean-style tables
and chairs. Near the beach you will find an outdoor pool and an
exclusive area for barbecuing. Guests can spend some quiet time
as they take in a breathtaking sunset against Jebudo Island.

Casa Moro is situated close to Daemyung Vivaldi
Park, a resort that enjoys immense popularity
throughout the year. With Casa Moro’s rooms
offering beautiful views of Mt. Palbongsan and
the Hongcheongang River, some people are
content just to relax in their room. Perhaps the
most interesting structure here is a corner building
that actually looks like a rocket launch pad,
and there is also a tranquil café to relax.
There are so many ways to find peace here:
have a late breakfast and then read a book
while taking in the outstanding scenery around
you, or play one of the many board games that
Casa Moro provides free of charge. Casa Moro’s
swings are also very popular among guests.
Casa Moro provides all of its guests with a very
special amenity in all its rooms: a private spa.
All six types of rooms have a different kind of
spa, one inside the room and one on the terrace.
Imagine slipping into a warm terrace spa on
a chilly autumn night underneath a sky filled
with stars!

Built with exposed concrete, Casa Moro’s interior is simple, yet
elegant and modern. Each room has a unique design. Scene-
Full rooms, also called Red Rooms, are replete with passion. All
the furniture and objects within these rooms are a bright red,
creating an upbeat atmosphere. Other rooms, including River-
Full, overlook the Hongcheongang River through floor-to-ceiling
windows in the living room, while WonderFull rooms are
decked out in black, white and silver.
The Suite has an outdoor pool and a wooden deck for tanning.
MegaPool rooms are royal suites that come complete with a billiards
table, fireplace and outdoor spa. Plus, MegaPool guests
have exclusive access to the artificially generated waves at Casa
Moro’s Swim Spa Pool.
Guests can also watch movies on a beam projector, have a barbecue
indoors or outdoors, rent bikes for free, or play badminton.

Although Over the Mountain is very much about its surrounding natural landscape,
the building itself is nothing less than modern and sophisticated. With its location at
the end of a forest path in a secluded part of Gyeonggi-do, you will almost feel like
you are in your own world out here.
From the terraces lining the building, which lies on a slope, Over the Mountain offers
breathtaking views of a nearby mountain. In the morning, the fog often winds its way
up the mountain, creating a mesmerizing experience. Just a 10-minute walk away, is
the Garden of Morning Calm. Built in 1996, the arboretum houses 4,000 species of
plants, a promenade, and hot springs.

One of the high points of the hotel is its unique room structure:
each is built to maximize natural lighting. In addition to a huge
glass window, other glass walls have been erected, blurring the
distinction between inside and outside. The open structure of
Over the Mountain, with its full-size windows in the living room,
hallways and bedrooms, almost makes it feel like a maze as you
walk around the pension.
All the rooms, which range from 50 to 109 m² in size, have independent
exits and their own individual gardens. Guests can also
take advantage of private outdoor spas during their stay at Over
the Mountain.

Also available are a space for mingling with other guests, a café
at the center of the pension, outdoor tables, an outdoor pool and
fireplaces.
Western breakfast is served in the café, though guests are free
to barbecue in their own garden whenever they want. Over the
Mountain has a fully stocked grocery store, and there are a
variety of summer sports to take part in, including mountain
biking, water skiing, rafting, and fishing.
