Imagine if taught English in Korea. He would turn out legions of lippy, fast-freestyling, foul-mouthed kids with a firmer grip on the English language than an angry Detroit gangster on the trigger of a Glock. Unfortunately, he’s just a rapper, record producer, songwriter and actor. That hasn’t stopped Hyundai Card from inviting him to Korea to deliver the latest Hyundai Card Super Concert (previous events have featured the likes of Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Beyonce, Wiener Philharmoniker with Sumi Jo and other massive names in world music). TWO WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL

Dir. Kimjho Gwang-soo Theaters: Indieplus [ B1], KT&G Sangsang Madang [ E2], Arirang Cine & Media Center, KU Cinema Trap

Come see (with English subtitles!) Korea’s first queer romantic comedy, director Kimjho Gwang-soo’s “Two Weddings and a Funeral.” Min-su (Kim Dong-yun) is a homosexual who wants to be live free of his parents, and Hyo-jin (Ryoo Hyoun-kyoung) is a lesbian who wants to adopt a baby and raise him with her partner. They enter a fake marriage to achieve their goals. All is going swimmingly until Min-su’s parents barge in, wreaking havoc on their lives. One of Korea’s very few openly gay film directors, Kim has been involved a series of critically acclaimed gay-themed films, including 2006’s “No Regret.”

AEROSMITH: MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION
Steven Tyler has called it quits to American Idol, remarking, “After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit” (yes, a Fatal Attraction reference). Aerosmith’s music lives on, however. Set for release in November, “Music from Another Dimension!” is the rock legends’ 15th studio album, and their first since 2001. Sure, Steven Tyler might be 64, and spent much of the 70s and 80s (and the 2000s, for that matter) pursuing a lifestyle not entirely conducive to longevity. But for Aerosmith, it’s the music that keeps them alive. Or as Tyler recently told Rolling Stone magazine, “I’ve seen a thousand bands go down the drain because they can’t stop giving each other the finger and holding resentments,” Tyler says. “Now I just look at [guitarist] Joe Perry and say, ‘[Expletive] you about your ‘[expletive] you!’”
BEAST: MIDNIGHT SUN
Korean boy band Beast trumpets their comeback with their new mini-album “Midnight Sun.” The six-track “Midnight Sun” comes a year and two months after last year’s “Fiction and Fact.” BEAST announced their comeback—in real time—to fans around the world during the “Hang Out Live On Air” event on their Google+ page. The award-winning group has enjoyed critical and commercial success, made all the more amazing by the humble careers of its individual members prior to the formation of the band.

TOTAL RECALL

Dir. Len Wiseman Release Date: Aug 15 This writer must be getting old, because

now they’re remaking the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle “Total Recall.” Based on Philip K. Dick’s “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” this version ditches the trip to Mars in favor of a politically charged not-so-distant future dominated by Western and Eastern superpowers. Staring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale and Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston.
