Jongno
Most low to medium priced accommodations in Jongno are located between Jongno 3-ga Street and Anguk Station (Subway Line 3), and are easily accessible by Subway Line 1, 3 or 5. Also, they are within walking distance of major tourist sites such as Changdeokgung Palace, Unhyeongung Palace, Jongno and Insa-dong. The bustling Jongno area has a plethora of coffee shops, restaurants and bars that stay open until late at night. Yim’s House is a five-story building that was recently renovated to better suit the needs of its guests, most of whom are international travelers. Each room has a small refrigerator and a private bathroom. Guests may get internet access in the hotel’s business room, browse through travel pamphlets in the lobby, or ask the friendly owners of the hotel for any assistance. Also, Yim’s House is within walking distance of Changdeokgung and Unhyeongung Palaces and Jongmyo Shrine. |

Gye-dong
Most low to medium priced accommodations in Gye-dong near Insa-dong are hanok with modern renovations. While their facilities are clean, the hanoks lack space that more modern accommodations have. Most rooms are for single or double occupancy. However, the lack of space is made up for by the availability of craft workshops, galleries and unique restaurants in the neighborhood, which is dedicated to preserving and teaching Korean traditions. |

☞ Bukchon Guest House
Bukchon Guest House used to be the home of Baeryeom (1911-1968), a Joseon Dyansty painter. Registered as the 35th National Cultural Heritage of Korea, Bukchon Guest House is comprised of three hanok-style houses situated in close proximity to each other. All of the rooms have been remodeled using yellow soil, and now have modern amenities and ondol (underfloor heating). Also, Bukchon Guest House regularly holds traditional cultural experience programs, including making Korean dishes, trying on hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) and learning traditional etiquettes. |

☞ Seoul Guest House
Seoul Guest House is the oldest and largest hanok guesthouse in the village. It has a garden adorned with ancient artifacts, and is home to pet animals, a dog named Ssari and a rabbit. In addition to rooms of all sizes, the guesthouse has a sarangchae (an annex where men used to study or entertain guests) that offers a view of Inwangsan Mountain and Bukaksan Mountain. Because of its history and setting, Seoul Guest House is frequently used as a filming location for various media channels. |

More than a guesthouse, Anguk Guest House is a place for learning Korean traditional culture. Various hands-on experience programs including dado (Korean tea ceremony), hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) etiquettes and cooking classes are held at the house. Traveler’s Café
Traveler’s Café across the street from Changdeokgung Palace is owned by Good Morning Travel, a travel agency that runs city tours in Korea. The walls inside the café are adorned with pictures of Hallyu stars, providing perfect backgrounds for souvenir photos. Customers may indulge in coffee and sandwiches while enjoying Korean movies and music playing in the background.
