A DMZ Tour Revealing the Stark Reality of Korea: the World’s Only Divided Country

Course
09:00: Depart from Seoul
11:00: Tour of Heyri Art Valley in Paju (Lunch)
15:00: Experience Kartland in the Parking Lot of Odusan Unification Hill
16:00: Tour of Odusan Unification Observatory
18:30: Arrive in Seoul

Korea is the only divided country in the world. The demilitarized zone (DMZ), designated in 1953 when the Armistice Agreement was signed, marks the site of the division. From the observation platform of the Odusan Unification Observatory, North Korea appears very close. Except for special cases, no civilians (non-official) can gain access to North Korea, which is only 400 to 500 meters away. However, in front of Odusan Unification Observatory, the waters of the South’s Hangang River and those from the North’s Imjingang River come together naturally, and flow as one into the West Sea.

This DMZ tour includes a visit to Odusan Unification Observatory, where visitors can experience the sadness of the division, a Korean art and culture tour to Heyri Art Valley, and the thrill of driving go-karts at Kartland, located at the Unification Hill parking lot.
