Yeongju, a perfect blend of nature and traditional culture

Located on the northern end of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Yeongju is a city of beautiful natural landscape and cultural heritage along the Sobaeksan mountain range. Some of its major tourist sites are Sobaeksan Mountain, Buseoksa Temple, Sosuseowon Confucian Academy, Yeongju Museom Village, Huibang waterfalls, and Punggi hot springs. Yeongju is commonly called the city of seonbi (classical scholars), with various sites showing traditional culture and the noble spirit of ancestors. Yeongju is a transportation hub where Yeongdongseon line and Gyeongbukseon line cross. But it is also easily accessible by car, taking only about 2 hours and 40 minutes from the Seoul Metropolitan area. Let’s visit Yeongju, the city of classical scholars where the traditional culture and history are alive.
