| Festival Programs: The Iksan Jewelry Festival, held each year in
April and in October, takes place at the
nation’s only jewelry complex in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do Province. During the festival period, all precious stones and jewelry, except 24k gold and diamonds, are being sold at a 20% discount, offering great bargains for jewelry lovers. Also, special jewelry consultation is available for engaged couples, in addition to a variety of services, such as gem resetting and free jewelry cleaning. The Jewel Museum will exhibit the prizewinning entries of the Jewelry Design Competition. In addition, visitors can enjoy a variety of special performances, folk music, the Iksan Family Hanmadang event, and academic seminars. Festival Highlights: The Iksan Jewel Museum is a paradise for jewelry lovers, with a collection of 127,000 precious gems, rough stones, and fossils collected from around the world. During the festival, the museum will exhibit Korea’s largest amethyst and Korean pearls and precious stones listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Also highly recommended is the hands-on jewelry making class, in which participants can polish their own rough stones. |
