|The 2012 Seoul Independent Movie Festival took place from November 29 through December 7 at CGV Apgujeong and the independent movie theater, INDIESPACE. This year in particular, the festival has increased in size and featured a more diverse program. The invitational section screened both domestic and international films focusing on global democracy. The ‘New Choices’ category was added this year to discover up-and-coming directors. To encourage audience participation, audience juries selected a film for the ‘Surprise Screening’ on the closing day of the festival. Winning films of the festival were screened at various venues. Ticket prices were 6,000won for general screenings and the closing ceremony, 8,000won for the opening ceremony, 10,000won for night-time screenings, and 40,000won for day-pass tickets.
