|The Center for Korean Language Education (CKLE) began as Korean Language Program (KLP) for the Center for Language Research and Instruction (CLRI) in 2002. In 2005, it underwent considerable restructuring and was reorganized into a the CKLE in 2005. The purpose of the center is to offer programs to foreigners and ethnic Koreans to enhance their communication skills in the Korean language and provide a deeper understanding of the culture. Professional Korean instructors, using learner-centered teaching methods, help students efficiently master the language and understand the culture more profoundly. The KLP also has a specialized Korean language program for foreign students preparing for undergraduate or graduate study in Korea. The center also supports various student exchange programs with its sister universities. Students are placed in a class consisting usually of 12 pupils, at their respective levels of proficiency.|
|Korean Language Program & Schedule:
-All courses are offered for a year (4 terms) (10 weeks per term, total 180 hours)
-Korean Language classes run every Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri. Cultural programs every other Wednesday.
-20 hours of cultural experience are allocated per term.
-Terms start every March, June, September and December (First Monday of the respective month)
-Placement tests: 1 week before term begin.

1. Within 2 years since graduation from last school attended
2. Academic score from last school attended should be at least 70/100.
3. No record of illegal residency from parents
4. Sufficient funding to live in Korea
1. Hogubu with all members of family, notarized (copies of family members)
2. Certificates verifying work experience/employment/study after graduation-original and Korean translation
3. 1 copy of Sponsorship Letter - notarized in Korea (attach certificate of employment or income of the sponsor)
4. Certificate of Income of Parent (tax invoice or real estate registration transcript also possible)
5. USD10,000 of balance or more (deposited at least 6 months)
|Submit Application Documents → Review & Notify individuals → Tuition Payment → Letter of Admissions, Invoice of Tuition issued → Apply visa at a local Korean embassy or consulate office → Arrival (new student registration) → placement test|
Students of the regular program can get either the regular short-term visa (C-3) or a regular training visa (D-4). The school does not administrate visa application for the students. C-3 visa is good for 90 days. For students enrolling for two terms or longer must transfer to a D-4 visa. There is no visa application required for those enrolled in the special programs.
Sponsor must be a Korean national living in Korea with a job. This letter must by notarized by the sponsor or the student. Extension of Visa
For students of the CKLE requires the following documents to obtain a D-4 visa:
Passport & Alient Registration Card
Application form for Extension of Stay (Immigration Office)
Certificate of Enrollment & Certificate of Attendance (issued by CKLE)
Certificate of Bank Balance under student's name (min USD3,000) or a sponsorship letter
Administration Fee: 30,000won
Alien Registration Card
An alien registration card must be issued before getting a D-4 visa.

| Registration cancellations and refunds are possible only upto the first week of each term. Refunds are not possible beyond the first week. No refunds or cancellations are possible after the visa has been issued. Students should fill out the application for refund and submit to the administration office with a copy of their bank passbook and the admission letter. A letter of proxy must be attached to any bank passbook which does not belong to the student.
Where students are issued visa through admission to the CKLE, students can only get refund of tuition and other charges with a certificate of disembarkment (a certificate of disembarkment or a copy of passport page showing disembarkation from Korea).
