| Introduction | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Institute of International Education (IIE) at Kyung Hee University was founded with the purpose of becoming a forerunner in globalization and the fields of Korean and foreign language education. The Korean language program at Kyung Hee University began in 1993 to provide Korean language and culture training to government office workers and has continued to build its reputation as one of the nation’s top language facilities. There are currently 10,000 of the university's own students enrolled in the foreign language program, which includes English, Japanese, Chinese, and other foreign language classes as well as TOEIC or TOEFL prep classes. Other programs offered by IIE focus on fostering the future leaders of tomorrow. Such programs include a scholarship program co-sponsored by the governments of Korea and Japan to train students for transfer to renowned engineering universities in Japan. Another landmark program is a leadership program that helps university students prepare for and enroll in the University of Beijing without having to go through entrance exams. |
