Opened on June 15, 2001 Jeju National Museum is a historical museum that displays, preserves and studies Jeju Island’s historical and cultural assets. Jeju National Museum houses various remains excavated from ruins, including meaningful relics from the prehistoric age through to the Joseon Dynasty. It boasts unique traditional culture and holds special exhibitions each year.

Diorama of Jejueupseong Fortress and stained glass showing the myth of Tamla.

Display on the history of Jeju, from creation as a volcanic island to the arrival of the first people.

[Tamla Hall]
Display on Tamla period when Jeju’s unique culture was built and flourished.

[Goryeo Hall]
Display on Jeju’s culture after various changes when Goryeo and Talma became one nation

[Tamna Sullyeokdo Hall]
Through Tamna Sullyeokdo keeping the scene of Jeju 300 years ago, people can learn about life for Jeju people during the Joseon period.

[Joseon Hall]
Display on the life of ordinary people after accepting new cultures by looking into old documents and tools.

[Collection Hall]
Regularly changed exhibition with selected relics donated after opening

Take an airport bus from Jeju Airport (Bus #200 or #300/ 8 minute interval/ 6:20am - 10pm) and get off at Dongmun Rotary. (25-35 minute ride) → Take a bus heading Hwabuk or Samyang (Bus # 10, 14, 24, 25, 27, 28, 38) and get off at Kounimoru. (10 minute ride) Cross the street and walk 5 minutes.
