| Jangnyeongsan Natural Forest opened in 1994. Located at the foot of Jangnyeongsan Mountain (640m), the Forest boasts exquisite scenery created by rock formations set along the mountain ridge and valley between pine and oak tree forests. Hemibarbus mylodon (Natural Monument No. 238) inhabits in the clear waters of Geumcheon Valley, which cuts through the Forest. Accommodation facilities such as log cabins are available inside Jangnyeongsan Natural Forest. The forest offers four hiking trails up the Jangnyeongsan Mountain ridge, as well as a range of recreation and educational facilities including natural water pool, observatory, walking trail, outdoor class, nature observation center, children’s playground, water park, woodland park, open-air training center, physical fitness center, and roller skating rink. There is also a fishery and agricultural product market. Yongamsa Temple from the Silla Dynasty (57 BC-935 AD) is situated on Jangnyeongsan Mountain and nearby tourist attractions include Gyeryongsan National Park, Daedunsan Provincial Park, Daecheongho Lake, Seodaesan Leisure Town, Janggye Tourist Park, and Geumgang Recreation Area. |
