|Located near the Children’s Grand Park, Geunhwawon is run by the Korean Children’s Center of Yookyoung Foundation. It was opened in 1987 to provide practical education for children. It consists of eight guest rooms, which altogether can accommodate as many as 120-180 people at once. Situated in the center of Seoul, the guesthouse offers easy access to public transportation, and is great for groups of students who want to experience a hanok stay.
As an etiquette education institute, Geunhwawon provides both children and adults with an opportunity to experience a hanok stay and learn about traditional culture and manners. It also offers experience programs, such as natural dyeing, ddeok (rice cake) making, tea ceremonies, and traditional etiquette and other cultural programs. The Korean Children’s Center, where the guesthouse is located, operates a swimming pool in the summer and a sledding area in the winter. You can also visit the zoo and the botanical garden at the nearby Children’s Grand Park.
