| The history of Jajangmyeon Street in Incheon Chinatown dates back to 1905 with the opening of the Chinese restaurant Gonghwachun, where black bean paste noodle dish named jajangmyeon originated. When the businesses started to decline in 1970s, the jajangmyeon restaurant owners began to offer additional items on the menu such as Chinese liquor, bread, and dumplings. Thanks to their efforts, the street revived and has become a popular tourist destination. Nowadays, the street is lined with restaurants and shops selling a variety of snacks and goods such as Chinese pancakes, jewelry, accessories, and household items. On weekends, the street is always bustling with visitors and many people like to take photos of the street’s scenery. The most popular dishes on Incheon Chinatown’s Jajangmyeon Street are jjamppong (Chinese-style noodles with vegetables and seafood), and jajangmyeon, which has many variations (regular, Chinese-style, old-style, etc.). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
