Gyeongju was the capital of the Silla Kingdom for over a thousand years. The Gyeongju Historic Area, registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage on November 2000, is an area that embodies the time-honored history and culture of Gyeongju. This area contains a remarkable concentration of sites and relics that are an outstanding testimony to Gyeongju’s cultural achievements.

Aside from exploring Gyeongju’s historical sites, visitors can also spend a day of fun and excitement at Gyeongju World Resort's Amusement Park, which is located next to Bomun Lake inside the Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex. The Amusement Park features a sledding slope, swimming pool, soccer field, fitness center, and 26 exciting rides including a river rapids ride and roller coasters.
