|Hwagae Market is one of the most popular traditional markets. It sells a wide variety of products, including farming tools and traditional foods. Several restaurants and jumaks (small taverns serving food and liquor) sell gukbap (pork or ox bone soup with rice), dotorimuk (acorn jelly salad), jaecheopguk (clear shellfish soup), and more.
Meanwhile, Hwagae Market appears in novelist Kim Dongri's "Yeokma (Stagecoach)", and also continues to draw large crowds.
