The season of skiers and snowboarders; winter has returned. Korea’s major ski resorts will begin opening their doors one after another following the opening of the Yongpyong Resort on November 18 as they announced their official start to welcome winter visitors. Those who plan to visit ski resorts during the first week of opening will find it easier to enjoy winter leisure sports at a lower cost as most resorts will be offering free rides on ski lifts and gondolas.
The Yongpyong Resort will be the very first ski resort to open their doors, on November 18, along with the Bogwang Phoenix Park, Daemyung Vivaldi Park, and the High 1 Ski Resort, as they plan to open a number of their slopes first before they begin to gradually open the entire ski slope area. Soon after, the Hyundai Sungwoo Resort, Muju Resort, and Bears Town are to follow opening in the middle November, making it a total of 7 ski resorts to open in November, while other ski resorts plan to begin opening their doors early December to mid-December.
The Konjiam Resort, in particular, is attracting much attention as it will be opening for the first time on December 19, boasting a convenient location 40 minutes away from Seoul Gangnam. Click on the ski resort links below to see transportation information and more details on the ski resort.
