The warm spring weather brings much anticipation for outdoor activities. A great way to exercise and take in nature is to join some of the nation’s walking festivals. Cheongsando Island in Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do will be holding its annual Cheongsando Slow Walk Festival from April 1 through April 30 while the 2014 Million People Walking Festival of Namsan will take place at Namsan Park’s Baekbeom Square on April 19, 2014.

The Cheongsando Slow Walk Festival promotes well-being of the mind and body through the esthetic of being slow. The festival has 11 courses to choose from and participants will earn a stamp after completing the course.

At the 2014 Million People Walking Festival of Namsan, participants can walk along the beautiful small streams while enjoying the natural scenery in the heart of the city. The festival consists of two walking courses: a full course (7.5㎞), which covers the entire Namsan Mountain circuit, and a half course (3.5㎞).

Both festivals are open to everyone free of charge.
