Photo credit: Courtesy of the Oriental Medical Tourism Organization

A unique opportunity to experience Korean herbal medicine will be offered to foreigners at Namsangol Hanok Village from March 5 to November 1, 2014.

At Herbal Medicine Experience Center located inside the village, international visitors can try herbal medicinal treatments and herbal teas for free. The typical session may include an analysis of body type and blood pressure. Doctors will also offer free pulse diagnosis and simple treatments such as acupuncture and cupping therapy after a brief consultation.

In addition, visitors can get a further glimpse into Korea’s traditional herbal medicinal culture through trying aroma therapy, making traditional herbal soaps and making traditional pouches for storing herbal medicine.

Foreign language (English, Japanese and Chinese) interpreters will be available on site to assist tourists.
