[Korea] Free Seoul-Jeonju Shuttle Transports Travelers to Jeolla Festivals

A free shuttle bus for foreign travelers from Seoul to Jeonju resumed operation on March 8, and is scheduled to run through the end of August 2014. The bus schedule is the same as last year, with regular trips scheduled every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Jeonju is known by locals and expats alike as a top travel destination for its traditional Korean houses and traditional way of life, and its well-preserved traditional and historical sites. Famous tourist sites in Jeonju include the Jeonju Hanok Village [Slow City], a living traditional village, and Gyeonggijeon Shrine, which is dedicated to Korea’s historical figures. Hansik (Korean food) and the city’s famous dish, Jeonju Bibimbap, are also popular among foreign travelers.

This year, buses will operate on a special route, heading directly to local attractions during festival periods. Namwon, Buan, Iksan and Jeongeup will host festivals in May, followed by Muan in June, and Jangsu in August. All buses will redirect their wheels to each festival, thus travelers should check the festival calendar and plan accordingly.

An English-speaking tour guide will also be on the bus for the convenience of passengers.
