[Korea] Miasamgeori Station’s New Name: Miasageori Station (Seoul Subway Line 4)

Miasamgeori Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), located in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, has been renamed to Miasageori Station since December 26, 2013.

The original name Miasamgeori Station was named after Mia-dong’s three-way intersection that divided the three districts near the station. However, since an additional road has recently been built, the said intersection is now a four-way intersection. Hence, it was decided to change the station’s name to Miasageori Station to reflect the change.

There are currently three stations with the names of nearby public institutes or public facilities appended to the station’s name: Suyu Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), with Gangbuk-gu Office appended; Noksapyeong Station (Seoul Subway Line 6), with Yongsan-gu Office appended; and Bonghwasan Station (Seoul Subway Line 6), with Seoul Medical Center appended.
