*Hahoe Mask Dance Drama Performance (Hahoe Byeolsingut Exorcism)
The Hahoe Mask Dance drama originated in Hahoe Village, Andong, Gyeongsangnam-do, and dates back to the mid-12th century. It was performed by and for the common people as part of a shamanist ritual for the town’s peace and prosperity. Imbued with the wisdom of our ancestors, the Hahoe Mask Dance Drama has garnered praise from audiences around the world due to the artistic value of the masks, the mass appeal of the drama and it’s ability to demostrate conflict reconciliation between the social classes.

*Byeolsingut Exorcism
Byeolnada means unusual or eccentric. Byeolsingut refers to ‘an unusually large ritual (gut)’ or ‘an eccentric ritual (gut).’
