The Seoul Baekje Museum, located in Songpa-gu, Seoul, will be holding traditional culture experience programs every weekend until December 22, 2013.

The museum opened its doors to the public in April, showcasing the long history of Seoul (then known as Hanseong), the capital of the Kingdom of Baekje for 500 years from 18 BC to 475 AD. The experience programs at the museum include jangmyeongru* making, jegi making with hanji, and woodblock printing.

Visit the museum this weekend to view the exhibits and take part in the hands-on programs being offered. Admission to the museum and participation in hands-on programs are all free of charge.

*Jangmyeongru: a bracelet worn to wish for longevity on Dano (the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar). It is made of five-colored threads (red, blue, yellow, black, and white) and is believed to prevent misfortune and promote good health and long life.
