The newly constructed Seoul branch of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will open its doors to the public on November 13, 2013.

As the only national art museum in the country accommodating both modern and contemporary art, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art displays quality artworks of different subjects from famous local and international artists. As an addition to the main branch in Gwacheon, the Seoul branch will offer better accessibility for Seoul residents.

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul (52,125㎡ area) is a three-story building with three basement levels. Aside from having eight exhibition halls, it also has a theater, a seminar room, a cafeteria, and a digital book café.

As part of a multicultural space in harmony with the other tourist attractions in the area such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Samcheongdong-gil Road, and Bukchon Hanok Village, the Seoul branch is expected to become a beloved attraction among locals and tourists alike.
