The Yeoju Ogok Naru Festival 2013 will take place at the Silleuk Temple Resort neighborhood in Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, from November 8 to 11, 2013.
The festival, regarded as Yeoju’s most representative food festival, is the place for visitors to see Yeoju’s agricultural products and local specialties all in one place. Visitors can sample Yeoju’s farm products and specialties, such as rice and sweet potatoes, and purchase them at a low price. The festival’s featured attraction is the ferry reenactment showing the old Yeoju with a well-developed waterway.
Drop by the Yeoju Ogok Naru Festival this weekend to see a wide variety of locally harvested products and join in on the festivities. The festival can be enjoyed free of charge.
*Ogok Naru is a combination of the words ogok and naru (a ferry). Ogok refers to the five grains that include rice, barley and soybeans. However, ogok in the festival’s context encompasses all of Yeoju’s agricultural products and local specialties such as rice, sweet potatoes, peanuts and apples.
