The Iksan Ten Million Chrysanthemum Festival 2013 will take place from October 25 to November 3 at Iksan Central Park in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do.
With a Baekje* theme this year, the festival will be having chrysanthemum flowers arranged in the shape of Baekje’s palace, fortress or pagodas. LED lights are installed around the venue to bring the festival to life at night. Visitors can also sample some chrysanthemum tea or pamper themselves with a chrysanthemum foot bath. Hands-on activities include chrysanthemum soap making and pressed flower craft making.
Admission to the festival is free. There will be no separate entrance fee to the venue.
*Baekje: one of the old kingdoms of Korea that ruled from 18 BCE to 660 CE. Iksan, a great historical and cultural city of ancient Baeke, holds plenty of relics and remains from the Baekje era.
