[Korea] Extended hours at Changgyeonggung & Gyeongbokgung Palace

▲ View of Gyeonghoeru Pavillion of Gyeongbokgung Palace at night

Welcoming autumn this year, Changgyeonggung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace located in Jongno, Seoul will extend their operating hours.

As the palaces are one of the more popular tourist sites for both local and domestic visitors, the extended hours will operate with a limited number of participants. During the extended hours, Changgyeonggung Palace will allow 1,700 visitors and Gyeongbokgung Palace will allow 1,500 visitors per day. This limitation is in place to help insure the cultural sites are well-maintained and to provide a more relaxed, less-crowded environment for visitors. In the past, the extended hours period lasted for just five days, but this year the extended hours will be over a thirteen day period. Extended admission to Changgyeonggung Palace runs from October 1 to 13 and at Gyeongbokgung Palace from October 16 to 28.

International visitors can reserve tickets by phone if there is difficulty in booking online (65 tickets for Changgyeonggung Palace and 55 tickets for Gyeongbokgung Palace per day).
