[Korea] Yellow Sea Beaches Now Open!

(Clock-wise) Sambong BeachㆍDaecheon BeachㆍMallipo BeachㆍMuchangpo Beach

Beaches along the Yellow Sea in Chungcheongnam-do began to open in June 2013, welcoming visitors from all over. While Mallipo Beach in Taean-gun and Daecheon Beach in Boryeong-gun are already opened, many other beaches are to be opened between the end of June and the beginning of July.

Mallipo Beach in Taean-gun opened on June 1, Cheongpodae Beach opened on June 15, and Mageompo Beach opened on June 25, 2013. Starting on July 1, 3, 5, and 6, Hakampo Beach, Mongsanpo Beach, Yeonpo Beach, Kkotji Beach, and Sambong Beach will open, respectively. Many different programs will be offered during the beach opening periods such as a sand sculpture competition at Mongsanpo Beach, a Yellow Sea Beach Festival at Yeonpo Beach, the Taean Mud Festival, and a beach singing competition and fishing at Kkotji Beach.

Daecheon Beach in Boryeong-gun opened on June 15 and Muchangpo Beach is scheduled to open on June 29. The 2013 Boryeong Mud Festival will be held at Daecheon Beach from July 19 to 28 and Muchangpo Mystic Sea Road Jukkumi and Dodari Festival will take place at Muchangpo Beach from August 23 to 25, 2013.
