Confucian Land offers visitors the chance to experience the culture of Confucianism, and opened in Andong on June 1, 2013. Andong was home to many classical scholars, called “seonbi*” in Korean.

Confucian Land was built for the purpose of introducing Confucianism to local and international visitors to Andong. Construction took three years to complete, and the building is three stories tall and has an area of 13,349 square meters. Visitors are able to directly and indirectly experience various aspects of seonbi culture through educational programs to introduce their ancient rules.

Confucian Land will offer a discount on admission through June 30, 2013 to celebrate its opening. The discounted price for admission is 5,000 won for adults and teens and 4,000 won for kids. Confucian Land will offer visitors a great opportunity to learn more about traditional Korean culture.

* Seonbi was a dignified and learned individual. It specifically refers to a certain status in the hierarchy following the philosophy of Confucianism during the Joseon Dynasty.
