The “Jeonju Hanji Culture Festival” is one of Jeonju’s major festivals and is taking place from May 2-5 at the areas around the Korea Traditional Culture Center (Hanji Industry Support Center) in Jeonju City and Daeseung Hanji Village of Jeollabuk-do Province.
Hanji is paper produced in a traditional Korean manner. Jeonju Hanji, in particular, was used in royal palaces because it was especially good in quality. This year, being organized in conjunction with the Wanju-gun County Office, the festival will be larger than previous years and will have better content. Under the theme of ‘Jeonju Hanji and Hallyu, waving together’, various programs will take place including performances and exhibitions such as a Hanji Fashion Show, Hanji puppet show, Hanji craft exhibition, parades, and hands-on programs.
Admission to the festival is free of charge.
