Close Encounters with Spring Flowers
Following on the heels of the cold winter weather, blooming yellow forsythia, sansuyu (cornus fruit blossoms), cherry pink azalea and maehwa (plum blossoms), and the long-awaited cherry blossoms signal spring’s arrival. Spring flower festivals present some of the best opportunities for visitors to see and smell the scent of flowers in full bloom. Despite the fickle weather that can hasten or delay blooming dates, the arrival of spring alone is more than enough reason to get out and enjoy the spring festivities.
