In celebration of the 2013 Lotus Lantern Festival, the Korea Tourism Organization will hold a special temple stay program for international tourists.

Participants in the program will stay at Jeondeungsa Temple located in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon-si for two days and one night to experience Buddhist culture. Temple visitors will learn more about temple etiquette, meditation, and Barugongyang (the act of eating as a part of practicing discipline and self control). They will also participate in the lantern parade, the Lotus Lantern Festival’s main event, which takes places in downtown Seoul. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for visitors to Korea.

The participation fee is 60,000 won and applications are available via e-mail. The application deadline is April 19, and 100 applicants will get the chance to participate in the program
