The 16th Gwangyang International Maehwa Festival will take place from March 23-31 at the area around Seomjin Village in Daap-myeon, Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do.
In its 16th year, the festival will be larger in size and will offer more content. Maehwa themed activities such as making ribbon decorations, soap, and necklaces will take place and a maesil food tasting corner will also be set up. International traditional music and dance performances as well as mime performances will take place.
Admission to the festival is free.
* Maehwa: Japanese apricot flower. The flower blooms in early spring. In Korea, people make tea and alcoholic drinks with maesil, the fruit of the maehwa flower.
