[Korea] Jeonju National Museum Holds Seollal / Jeongwol Daeboreum Celebrations

In celebration of Seollal (Lunar New Year) and Jeongwol Daeboreum (The first full moon of the lunar year), Jeonju National Museum is hosting ‘The 17th Korean Traditional Cultural Festival’ from February 9th through 24th.

The festival consists of four parts: Seollal celebration (Feb. 9-11), Jeongwol Daeboreum celebration (Feb. 24), weekend events (Feb. 16-17, 23), and ongoing events (Feb 9-24). Programs will include playing folk games, playing gugak (Korean traditional music) instrument, eating tteokguk (rice cake soup), making rice cake, and making traditional kites. Also, movies such as ‘Rapunzel’ and ‘Don’t cry for me, Sudan’ will be screened.

This will be a great chance to experience traditional culture of Korea in Jeonju, a city where Korean tradition is best preserved in many places such as Jeonju Hanok Village. Admission to the festival is free of charge.
