The 15th annual Homigot Sunrise Festival is set to take place on New Year’s Eve and Day in the Homigot Sunrise Square area.
The festival will kick off on New Year’s Eve with the Homigot Open Studio, which will read visitors’ letters to their families, friends and lovers, and also play requested songs. On New Year’s Day, the festival will invite visitors to watch the sunrise, and also serve the signature New Year’s dish, tteokguk (rice cake soup), to 10,000 people. Then, it will host a series of exciting programs, including a Gangnam Style flash mob, folk games, and a food market selling some of the most popular winter snacks like roasted sweet potatoes and chestnuts.
Meanwhile, Homigot’s first sunrise of the year 2013 is expected to start at 7:30 a.m.
