The Gyeongju Rice Cake and Traditional Drink Festival will run from October 13th to 17th at the Hwangseong Park and the Bonghwangdae Tomb area in Gyeongsangguk-do Gyeongju-si.
At this leading cultural tourism festival of Gyeongju, visitors can experience the Korean rice cake culture and traditional drinks from different regions in Korea. The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony, and a Rice Cake Making Contest will follow to choose the best rice cake master. During the festival period, the 1st Korean Traditional Drinks Expo will be held as a special event. Other exhibitions and experiential events include a Rice Cake Exhibition made by previous Rice Cake Making Contests’ winners, Rice Cake Experience Program, Traditional Tea Ceremony Experience Program, traditional music concerts, and a Makgeolli (traditional rice wine) cocktail show.
Admission to the festival is free. Some fees may apply to individual experience programs.
