Combining traditional beats and rhythm, the Hangawi (a.k.a. Chuseok; Korean Thanksgiving) Arirang Dalbit Concert will take place at National Gugak Center from September 30th to October 1st.
The concert consists of two parts: ‘Arirang Dalbit’ presenting 15 different versions of Arirang (famous folk song) as sung in different regions of Korea, and ‘Hangawi Dalbit’ featuring traditional folk performances such as Namsadang-Nori (traditional performance by a Joseon Dynasty vagabond troupe).
Moreover, there will be a chance to participate in such folk games as tuho (arrow throwing), jegi-chagi (hacky sack) and paengi-chigi (tap), and also eat songpyeon (traditional Chuseok rice cake) an hour before the concert starts.
