The 2012 World Electronica Carnival (WEC), a celebration of the new popular music genre that synthesizes rock and hip hop sounds, is set to take place on Jaraseom Island in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Province from August 10th to 12th.
This year, over 60 groups from home and abroad, including world-famous DJs and performers, will be staging fantastic shows. The WEC will open with Shadow, touted the Father of Sampling Music, and Yolanda Be Cool on the first day, followed by top DJ Benny Benassi, the producer of “Satisfaction” and “House Music”, and winner of the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, on the next day.
Other performances include local DJs and performers like Club 505, Peterpan Complex, one of the contestants in TV audition show “Top Band: Season 2”, and Lad Monkeys.
