| Introduction | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Korea's human cultural asset, Professor Hwang Hye-seong who handed down Joseon royal court cuisine (designated as nation’s Intangible Cultural Property No. 38), and those who received instruction from him opened the first franchise in Jangchung-dong (near the National Theatre) in March 1990. Since then, six more chains have moved into department stores nationwide. The three-story restaurant plays peaceful music for guests to enjoy while dining. Jihwaja specializes in several course meals that may take an hour and a half to two hours to finish. Salty and spicy cuisine is avoided while natural seasoning and fresh ingredients are used. In addition, the restaurant attracts numerous visitors as its cuisine is fit for guests with high blood pressure, diabetes or obesity. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
