The end-of-the-year music festival included performances by Big Bang, TVXQ, Super Junior, Dynamic Duo, Epik High, SHINee, Ailee, B1A4, 2NE1, Secret, B.A.P, SISTAR, T-ara, GLAM, Teen Top, CN Blue, EXO, FT Island, miss A, MBLAQ, A Pink, Infinite, 4minute, 2AM, After School, B2ST, Kara, and more.
To make things more exciting, there were four teams consisting of members of different idols groups labeled under the names of Mystic White, Dramatic Blue, Dynamic Black, and Dazzling Red, who sang songs created by the hottest producers of 2012.
SHINee opened up the show with Sherlock, which included a gravity-defying performance when the members walking up and down the walls.
Dressed up as Audrey Hepburn, 2NE1’s CL joined Sung Si Kyung to sing Yoo Jae Ha’s Because I Love You, which later brought in some jazz to spice up the stage.
CN Blue and FT Island rocked out on the same stage, jamming out to some of the most classic songs of Korean rock band history. The songs included Spring Summer Autumn Winter’s Somebody’s Dream, Yoon Do Hyun and Band’s Butterfly, and No Brain’s You’ve Fallen for Me.
The Top 3 contestants of K-Pop Star, Baek A Yeon, Park Ji Min, and Lee Hi came on the same stage once again to perform their individual hit singles as well as sing Duffy together at the end.
2NE1 returned to the Korean stage with new hair colors and upgraded fashion styles as the members took the stage with flowing scarves and charisma with I Love You. And for the record, Park Bom wore pants.
After a long period of absence, MBLAQ came running back on stage with Run. Supporting her little brother, Thunder, Sandara Park fangirled, trying to flash her brother’s name on her phone, but with no luck.
Perhaps one of the best performances of the night, Simon D, Epik High, and Dynamic Duo opened up Part 2 of the festival, walking down the streets of Hong Dae, rapping through the beats of Shorty, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Wale, Gangstarr, Nas, and Big Sean. When they entered the arena, the group put on a hip-hop remix of Gangnam Style and ended with each group’s hit songs.
Infinite brought memories of the summer back with The Chaser along with a clean-cut dance intro.
TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk, SHINee’s Minho and Taemin, EXO’s Kai and Lay teamed to become SM the Performance as they performed on Spectrum for the first time. Although pre-recorded, the idol group embers flashed an incredible dance routine before letting their sweet vocals shine, making the crowds scream mindlessly.
Bringing the different generations together, Kara’s Goo Hara and SHINee’s Taemin performed Kim Wan Sun’s The Clown Smiles at Us and Kim Won Jun’s After Everyone has Fallen Asleep with the respectful singers. The catch of this special performance was that Goo Hara was born when Kim Wan Sun’s song came out in 1991 and Taemin was born when Kim Won Jun’s song was released in 1993.
Hardly rookies anymore, B.A.P performed Warrior with a special step performance that ended their stage with a loud bang.
Suited up in red uniforms, the Kara members opened up Pandora with a unique intro with their back dancers, also dressed in military uniforms. As it the first in a long time for the group to be standing in front of the Korean stage, the members gave a powerful performance.
B2ST sang about what a Beautiful Night it was to be performing in front of all the B2UTIES in the audience. The members seemed to want to jump into the audience and just party.
Big Bang didn′t disappoint, as its stage started off with G-Dragon, flashing his pink and black hair, with One of a Kind and Crayon as well as a surprise cameo by Sandara Park. The Big Bang members joined their leaders with Fantastic Baby which then suddenly turned into a Gangnam Style remix with Big Bang prancing on the stage doing the horse riding dance. Oh, and Daesung had bright green hair.
Super Junior remained Sexy, Free, and Single with certain members sporting bright new hair color and feathered fedoras. Towards the end of the song, Super Junior included a special laser dance show, which soon turned into a full on party with groups of people who suddenly appeared on stage.
As if descending down from a UFO to earth, the TVXQ members put on a spectacular performance of Catch Me, complete with glowing arms and awesome teamwork with the dancers as always.
Transforming into mermaids, After School’s Lizzy, Secret’s Han Sun Hwa, SISTAR’s Bora, Kara’s Kang Ji Young, and 4minute’s Heo Ga Yoon teamed up to perform The Little Mermaid, making everyone in the audience feel like they’ve entered some kind of romantic fairy tale.
Chasing after shadow ladies, B2ST’s Yang Yo Seop, 2AM’s Jo Kwon, Teen Top’s Niel, Infinite’s Woo Hyun, and MBLAQ’s G.O. sang Tears Inducing Beauty (MUSE). With all the lead vocals in one group, Dramatic Blue’s performance was said to have achieved the highest point in ratings for the entire show.
If Dramatic Blue took over with sweet voices, Dynamic Black, consisting of 2AM’s Jung Jin Woo, Infinite’s Hoya, Teen Top’s L.Joe, B2STs Lee Gi Kwang, and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon put up on a dramatic performance of Yesterday.
Completely emotion-filled even with bloody tears, Dynamic Black’s Yesterday included clean-cut dance moves as well as smashing guitars.
Spicing things up, Dazzling Red performed This Person. Dressed in sexy red, Kara’s Nicole, SISTAR’s Hyolyn, Secrets Jeon Hyo Sung, 4minute’s Hyuna, and After School’s Nana seduced the audience with their flirtatious and provocative singing and dancing.
