1. Introduction
MISS A is a group that made a striking debut into the Korean music scene, breaking away from the idea that girl groups need to have a super-innocent, doll-like image in order to be successful. With bold performances and provocative song lyrics that criticize the shallowness of men’s perception of women, MISS A added a new, fresh element to the music industry and has quickly gained fans worldwide. With the members’ proficiency in English, Chinese, and of course, Korean, many expect the group to increasingly develop a strong presence in the international music arena.

The name MISS A's conveys the group’s hope of becoming a top ‘A-class’ group in Asia. MISS A consists of four members: Suzy, Min, Fei, and Jia. Ever since the release of the first single album ‘Bad but Good’ in 2010, the group has had several hit songs including ‘Bad Girl Good Girl,’ ‘Breathe,’ and ‘Love Alone.’

Despite being the youngest member of the group and having a relatively short training experienc (compared to other members), Suzy has become the spokesperson of MISS A, leading the group with her versatile music talents and radiant looks. Since 2010, Suzy has been MCing the MBC music program ‘Show! Music Core’ (along with Onew and Minho of SHINee and Jiyeon of T-ara). In 2011 she gained even more recognition for her acting and singing by starring in the KBS TV Drama ‘Dream High,’ as well as participating in the making of the Dream High OST.

Min perfected her singing and dancing through seven years of intense training, which have more than paid off! Despite her small frame, Min commands the stage with powerful dance moves and is viewed as the leader during the group’s energetic performances. In 2011, she appeared in the KBS variety show ‘Oh! My School’ (also known as ‘100 Points Out of 100’) and once again captivated the audience with her charm.

Fei was selected through a series of auditions in China, and was originally a member of the 3-person group ‘Sisters’ along with fellow Miss A member Jia and Hyelim, currently in Wonder Girls. Fei had steadily been gaining recognition in China for her excellent vocals before debuting in Miss A. In 2010, she was the Samsung Anycall commercial model in China and has continued play a central role in expanded the group’s popularity outside of Korea.

MISS A’s rapper and vocalist Jia was once a member of ‘Sisters’ along with fellow band member, Fei. Throughout her singing career, Jia has consistently contributed to expanding the team’s musical influence with her charismatic rapping skills. Each of the members of Miss A is known for her individual style and charms. Jia’s hair, in particular, has become her signature trademark.
