The development of the convention industry in Daejeon entered a new phase when the Daejeon Convention & Visitors' Bureau, operating as a non-profit foundation within the Daejeon Metropolitan City Government, was established in December 2005. By giving full support to organizers, the Daejeon CVB aims to attract more international events to the city.

Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), which will be opened in 2008, consists of a Grand Ballroom, an Exhibition Hall, a Conference Hall,and 24 meeting rooms designed to support all kinds of meetings and convention activities. A wide range of accommodations, KOTREX (KOTRA Exhibition Center in Daejeon), Expo Park, Daejeon Culture and Arts Center, the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and Hanbat Arboretum are located nearby.
